A Bournemouth primary school has benefitted from the assistance of Paul Basham Associates in securing efficient and sustainable travel opportunities for 1,000 5-11 year olds and their parents.
Having been approached by Stride Treglown Architects on behalf of Winton Primary School and Bournemouth Borough Council, Paul Basham Associates were presented with a complex task of balancing pupils’ health and safety, parents’ convenience and the security of local residents.
Due to the size of the school and the proposed developments, our team were commissioned to provide a Transport Assessment, Travel Plan and Highway Engineering Support. In order to complete these works, Site Audits, Traffic Surveys and Project Team meetings were interlinked with frequent liaison with local highways officers to ensure a safe, sustainable development was built.
Significant improvements have been made to the school with particular focus on the new 200 cycle and scooter storage spaces and ‘Park & Stride’ scheme. Paul Basham Associates are delighted to have helped create a safer, more efficient and healthy school environment for all users.
