Backing onto the Stroudwater Navigation, located in the centre of Stroud, Paul Basham Associates undertook the Section 278 detailed highway design for a McCarthy and Stone development at Cainscross Road.
Paul Basham Associates were instructed to obtain Section 278 approval for a new access design and associated highway improvement works to facilitate their approved site for 32 Retirement Living units.
Following planning consent to redevelop an existing MOT centre and as part of a pre-occupation planning condition; Paul Basham Associates undertook the detailed design package and construction drawings for the proposed highway alterations and improvements.
The scheme included a new bellmouth access into the site along with the stopping up of existing access points and widening to the existing footway where required.
This design was supplemented with a Road Safety Audit to confirm the suitability of the proposals and was issued to Gloucestershire County Council’s highway officers. Working closely with the local highway authority, full technical approval was negotiated, before PBA assisted with the pre-construction implementation of the highway works.
Paul Basham Associates secured Section 278 design check approval allowing the scheme to be implemented in time for the sites first occupations, with Paul Basham Associates providing site support as and when required.
