Under the Spotlight with Sophie Ayling

Sophie started with us in January 2017 and has just celebrated her three-year work anniversary! Sophie is the assistant to our directors Paul, Mark, Rob and Spencer and is based in our Fareham Office.

What does your job involve?

As assistant to the directors my role is to provide support to each director on a daily basis, by arranging meetings and events on their behalf. I also help Paul to manage his diary by ensuring that he has all the relevant information needed to complete his tasks for the day. I also help to ensure that Paul has time allocated to spend within each of our four offices.

Although it keeps me busy, being assistant to the directors is not my only role within the company. I am also part of our internal marketing team and our Quality Management System (QMS) team. As part of my role in the marketing team I spend time organising and arranging events, and looking after our website to ensure that the correct information is provided and that our case studies are updated as sites progress.

One of my duties within the QMS team is to ensure the company is complying with our internal procedures. This is one of the contributory factors that assists with our excellent quality of service and enables us to maintain our high standards as a ISO 9001:2015 accredited company.

What do you enjoy most about the role and working for Paul Basham Associates?

How busy I am every day! I also enjoy the variety of work I have and the work I am able to be involved in. The people at the company are also a fantastic, friendly and helpful and I enjoy catching up with all the team at frequent activities after work.

What do you see for the future of Paul Basham Associates?

Since starting at the company I have watched and experienced the growth not only within the regional offices that have opened, but also the teams in each of the offices as they continue to grow! I think we can expect a very bright and exciting future for Paul Basham Associates and I am very much looking forward to being apart of the continuing growth here!

What do you get up to in your free time?

I am a very sociable person and enjoy meeting up with friends most weekends for food, drinks (major fan of Bottomless brunch) or events we have planned. I also love to travel and recently fell in love with Dublin during a weekend away with friends. What other place has live music in the pub all day?! I also spend a lot of time with Tilly my dog and my niece Iyana, taking walks and going to the park. I have also recently just moved into my first property, so I have spent most of my time over the last few weeks unpacking!
