Vicky awarded Thames Valley’s Best Property Networker

On Thursday 13th September Paul Basham Associates attended TvPropFest 2018, a full day of walks, talks, awards and music with around 200 property professionals from across the Thames Valley. To top off the day, we were delighted that Vicky was named Thames Valley’s Best Property Networker! Here is a roundup of our day and we are already looking forward to next year’s event!

A morning walk around Fora’s new co-working space at Thames Tower and the Green Park Business Park with Mapletree gave the team insight into Reading’s current property market. It was amazing to see the stylish Roost at the top of the Thames Tower where busy staff have time to relax in a deckchair overlooking Reading Town Centre.

A networking lunch surrounded by exhibition stands was followed by a jam-packed afternoon with 5 sessions, each with a different key note speaker and an impressive discussion panel. The talks provided perceptive updates on the retail market, smart cities, the changing workplace, Garden Towns and Thames Valley’s productivity and the local industrial strategy.

The evening’s activities started with a drinks reception followed by a dinner and Oxfordshire’s Tanya Beckett providing “Brexit: Anecdotes from the Frontline”. Excellent music and theatrical entertainment and three award categories with what we understand was the first of its kind in the UK using an online voting system.

Vicky had been nominated by someone outside of the company as the best networker and had been shortlisted alongside four well-known faces. She was delighted to have made the cut and, with the likes of Jenni Montgomery and Simon Dimmick to beat, she was shocked to hear Matthew Battle read out her name. Obviously that T-shirt she circulated on LinkedIn had made a difference or perhaps it was the relationships that she has worked hard to build across the property market…

Congratulations to the other award winners on the night with Tomorrow’s Leader Award going to the well-deserved Zahra Waters from Lichfields and Mapletree’s VP Rory Carson named TV Property Leader of the year.
