Paul Basham Associates assisted McCarthy & Stone to support the submission of a planning application for a Retirement Living development consisting of 40 apartments and 6 individual apartments at the former Apollo Club, Mendham Lane, Harleston.
The Brief
Having provided initial layout advice on the site, McCarthy & Stone instructed Paul Basham Associates to carry out the required transport planning works for the submission of a planning application for 40 Retirement Living apartments and 6 individual apartments.
Our Approach
In the first instance we attended an on-site fusion meeting to discuss the scheme in person with the project team, gather a better appreciation for the site and establish the specific works required moving forward.
Following that, we then provided a layout review to ensure that all vehicles could access the site and ensure that there were no highways constraints or issues at this early stage.
A Transport Statement was then written to support the application, highlighting that the proposed development would result in an improvement in the operation of the local highway network in comparison to the former social club.
The Result
We are pleased to hear that the site received consent in July 2020 and we look forward to seeing the site constructed and occupied shortly.
