Part of the wider Strawberry Fields development comprising 250 dwellings, Paul Basham Associates assisted with the transport planning works for the first 50 dwelling phase of this development in Locks Heath.
Informed by the development brief, the transport planning team were able to assist The Highwood Group with the full planning application for this site. With access critical, needing a separate access being delivered in advance of the main site (remaining 200 dwellings) Paul Basham Associates liaison with Fareham Borough Council was key.
Our team were required to coordinate with the wider site masterplan to help create an attractive and permeable environment and were tasked with securing and designing an adoptable shared-space scheme to satisfy Fareham Borough and Hampshire County Council.
Paul Basham Associates prepared the associated Transport Assessment and Travel Plan for the planning application, and supported The Highwood Group through the consultation periods towards a successful outcome at committee.
Planning approval was granted in Winter 2011, with the site now fully built and occupied. With our offices located a stone’s throw away, we regularly use this site as an example to new staff about good shared space design.
