Paul Basham Associates are pleased to be involved in the scheme at Westvale Park, Horley which when complete will provide over 1,500 new homes, a school and a Neighbourhood Centre.
Following a successful Reserved Matters application Paul Basham Associates were approach by the Horley North West Consortium to provide a Neighbourhood Travel Plan for Phase 1, which comprises of 600 units. In addition, Paul Basham Associates were asked to help deliver the Travel Plan Coordination works for all Phases of development, with the Travel Plan anticipated to last for a period of 10 years.
In order to devise the Neighbourhood Travel Plan for Phase 1, it was critical to understand the wider Phases and infrastructure proposed as part of the development in order to set realistic and achievable targets. To ensure that the sustainable modes were advertised to residents upon moving in, several measures were implemented prior to occupation of the site this included liaising with members of the consortium and Surrey County Council’s Travel Plan Officer, undertaking frequent site visits and speaking to sales representatives.
The Travel Plan Coordination works for the first Phase are well underway, with surveys undertaken in December 2017 as part of the preliminary Phase of Travel Plan Coordination works. Paul Basham Associates then prepared a monitoring report to summarise results of the surveys and confirm the targets of the Travel Plan with Surrey County Council. This report was signed off by Surrey County Council’s Travel Plan Officer, who was pleased with the progress being made on-site.
Construction is well underway, with a number of units already occupied and the 10 year programme of Travel Plan Coordination works well underway. We have completed our Preliminary and Year 1 coordination works and are in the process of signing Year 2 off with Surrey County Council.
