Assistant Civil Engineer

Paul Basham Associates is a fast-growing, and award-winning Civil Engineering and Transport Planning consultancy. We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Civil Engineer role to support the management of an expanding Civil Engineering team and oversee fast-paced complex schemes across a diverse range of clients.

• HND, BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering
• Working towards ICE professional accreditation
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience within a civil engineering consultancy
• Experience working with local authorities, developers, and architects on civil engineering aspects of a range of schemes

• Work within a Civil Engineering design team responsible for the design of drainage systems, highway layout, and S278/S38 schemes
• Undertake design work (with supervision) for:
  • Drainage systems in accordance with Sewers for Adoption, building regulations and the SuDS Manual
  • On and off-site highway features, in accordance with the appropriate standards and codes e.g. Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, and Manual for Streets
• Have responsibility for being point of contact for clients on designated aspects of projects
• Be responsible for producing consistent high-quality drawing packages
• Work in a design office, with regular exposure to developers, architects and local authorities
• Support senior members of the team with completion of project work as required
• Assist with training and mentoring junior members of staff 
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Site 3D or equivalent 3D software
• Have knowledge of and willing to learn other engineering software
