Associate Transport Planner

Paul Basham Associates is a fast-growing, and award-winning Civil Engineering and Transport Planning consultancy. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Principal Transport Planner to support a wide variety of projects in an expanding team.

• Professional qualification or relevant degree
• Membership of professional organisation
• At least 10 years transport planning experience
• Knowledge of national design guidance
• Experience in managing/training junior members of staff
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and politely
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft packages
• Ability to prioritise workload and delegate tasks
• Ability to work effectively with other staff and as part of a team
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Experience of working with computer-based design & modelling packages

• Write, check and approve technical reports such as Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and Technical Notes.
• Approve technical drawings where appropriate
• Knowledge of appeal documentation including Statement of Case, Statement of Common Ground and Proof of Evidence
• Project manage schemes, including budget and time management
• Client liaison and management
• Mentor Graduate Transport Planners
• Attend and contribute towards project/design team meetings
• Preparation of fee proposals
• Dissemination of work through detailed understanding of staff abilities and ambitions
• Liaise with local authority officers
• Attend public consultation events
• Engage in and identify Business Development opportunities
• Support the growth of the business through delivery of KPIs
• Provide input into management review meetings
