We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer role to support the infrastructure and civil engineering design in an expanding team based in our Welborne site project office in Fareham.

Skills & Experience Required

Civil Engineer: 

  • HND, BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering
  • Working towards ICE professional accreditation
  • 4+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience within a civil engineering consultancy
  • Experience working with local authorities, developers and architects on civil engineering aspects of a range of schemes

Senior Civil Engineer: 

  • Preferred: Incorporated Engineer (IEng) [or working towards] with the Institution of Civil Engineers
  • A degree or HND in Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years’ consultancy experience
  • Experience working with local authorities, developers and architects on civil engineering aspects of residential, commercial and retirement/care schemes
  • Varied experience working on schemes through the planning process; from pre-app through to condition discharge
  • Civil engineering project management experience including projects combining drainage, external works and highways elements

Role Specific Requirements

Civil Engineer:

  • Work within an active and lively Civil Engineering design team responsible for the design of drainage systems, highway layouts, and S278/S38 schemes
  • Be proficient in and undertake infrastructure design work in accordance with appropriate standards and guidance (such as DMRB, NJUG, local design codes etc) including:
    • Utilities design such as detailed routing, cross-sections, clash detection, and coordination with statutory undertakers
    • Highways design such alignment, geometry, cross-sections, S278s etc
  • Undertake design work for Drainage systems in accordance with Sewers for Adoption, building regulations and the SuDS Manual
  • Support the writing of fee proposals
  • Have responsibility for being project manager on designated projects
  • Be responsible for producing consistent high-quality drawing packages
  • Aid in the reviewing of work produced by more junior members of the team
  • Provide developmental support to junior team members
  • Manage resource to support the completion of appropriate project work tasks
  • Work in a design office, with regular exposure to developers, architects and local authorities
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Site 3D or equivalent 3D software
  • Have knowledge of and willing to learn other engineering software

Senior Civil Engineer:

  • Work within a Civil Engineering design team responsible for the design of drainage systems, highway layouts, and S278/S38 schemes
