Paul Basham Associates were instructed to provide transport planning assistance for an application to expand Marcham Road Family Health Centre in Abingdon to create 8 additional examination rooms. The extension of the surgery will ensure that the practice is able to continue providing a high quality health service to its new and existing residents in the Abingdon area.
The Brief
Working with our client, West Waddy Arcadia, and alongside Marcham Road Family Health Centre, Paul Basham Associates were instructed to undertake a site visit and prepare a Transport Statement to support their planning application for the extension of the centre.
The Approach
Firstly, we undertook a site visit to assess the existing highway conditions and family health centre access/car park. Following this, we produced a Transport Statement to support the planning application, which contained information on accessibility, parking and trip generation, all of which were concluded as being sufficient, with no change required to the existing parking provision based on Oxfordshire standards.
The Result
Our Transport Statement was submitted as part of the planning application in July 2023, with planning permission then granted only 2 months later in September 2023
