Paul Basham Associates provided Transport Planning works on behalf of Barratt David Wilson Homes for a Reserved Matters application for Phase 3 of the West of Waterlooville Major Development Area.
The Brief
Our team were tasked with providing a Transport Assessment to support the Reserved Matters planning application for a residential development of 296 dwellings (Phase 3) as part of the West of Waterlooville Major Development Area.
Our Approach
Firstly, Paul Basham Associates reviewed documents submitted as part of the outline application and subsequent Section 106 agreement before attending design team meetings to agree the scope of works required.
Various principles and parameters such as site accessibility, trip generation and junction capacity modelling were agreed as part of the outline application, and therefore we were tasked with focusing on the implications of the detailed site layout and access.
Ultimately, our team produced a successful RMTA that outlined the finer development details including accommodation schedule and parking provision (with specific focus on the allocation and distribution of parking), internal road layout, servicing requirements and swept path analysis.
We also had ensured the development compiled with the ‘Berewood Design Code’ set out at the master planning stage. This would help ensure the phases of the Major Development Area would be in accordance with each other.
The Result
Paul Basham Associates helped secure planning permission for Phase 3 of the development and cannot wait to see the development being built!
