Trinity Road, Chipping Norton

Having been involved since the early stages, Paul Basham Associates are delighted to see the project team’s hard work paying off with planning permission granted for a mix of Assisted Living apartments and Retirement Living bungalows in Chipping Norton.

The Brief

Paul Basham Associates were instructed by McCarthy Stone to support a planning application for an Assisted Living apartment block and a smaller number of individual Retirement Living properties on a vacant site that previously housed a furniture factory.

Our Approach

Paul Basham Associates provided initial advice on the internal site layout to ensure that the design was sufficient to accommodate a refuse vehicle, as well as confirming that appropriate visibility was achievable. A comprehensive Transport Statement and Travel Plan were subsequently produced to demonstrate the proposals would not have a significant impact on the local road network.

Following discussions with the highway authority, the application was approved at planning committee and our team were appointed to assist in clearing pre-start conditions. This involved the preparation of a Construction Traffic Management Plan to identify the route construction traffic would take from the strategic road network to the site, the proposed traffic management principles and input to the construction site set up.

The Result
