Paul Basham Associates supported a planning application for a Sports Pavilion totalling 325sqm at Darwin Green One Cambridgeshire. The scheme included detailed consent for the development of a Sports Pavilion within the wider Darwin Green One development. The land was existing agricultural land, and the Pavilion is to be developed on the western area of Darwin Green One. The project is part of a wider project for the development of 2,230 dwellings which was granted permission in 2015. The Paul Basham Associates team have also supported BDW on achieving reserved matters consent for BDW3 and BDW4 phases of Darwin Green One totalling 552 dwellings.
The Proposal
Paul Basham Associates were tasked with undertaking the transport planning and highway works of the project which involved the review of external accessibility in relation to the wider Darwin Green masterplan, review and design of main vehicular, pedestrian and cyclist access points, servicing strategies for refuse and delivery vehicles and review and design of car and cycle parking.
Our Approach
Paul Basham Associates prepared a Transport Statement and completed a detailed analysis on the internal masterplan including access for all site users. Particular focus was given to the infrastructure requirements specifically for access to the site for pedestrians and cyclists in line with Cambridgeshire County Council standards.
The Result
With permission granted in 2023 the pavilion is now constructed and will provide a new facility for a variety of leisure uses for Darwin Green residents and the wider community. We are pleased to have supported BDW on this project and the wider Darwin Green development.
