Jake joined Paul Basham Associates as a Civil Engineering Apprentice following the completion of his T-Level in Engineering at CTEC College in Summer 2025. His desire to pursue a career in Civil Engineering came from his father, who he spent time getting stuck into labouring work on site with. Whilst he didn’t particularly enjoy putting up walls and fitting lights, he found he really enjoyed working out where everything went, and how it worked.
In Jake’s spare time, he enjoys playing rugby at his local club which he has done for nearly 6 years. He is a massive football fan, and watches every Pompey game and most premier league games. He’ll sometimes indulge in some F1 too, whenever he remembers there’s a race on! Alongside sports, Jake enjoys travelling with his family – Although he has recently ventured solo to 5 different countries in 5 days… What an experience!
Arron’s career in Engineering began in 2021, shortly after he left school. He spent his time getting involved with the production and installation of floating pontoons and bridges. He thoroughly enjoyed the practical, hands-on aspects of the role and found that this sparked a lasting passion for Structural Engineering!
Arron enjoys scuba diving, and exploring wrecks & marine life whenever he gets the chance. It’s a hobby that keeps him active and gives him a unique perspective on underwater structures and environments. He is also a keen guitarist, having played since a young age jamming with friends, or simply unwinding with music… it’s a big part of his life!
