Paul Basham Associates Annual Away Day 2025

On the 17th June, 2025, the team came together for our much-anticipated company away day at the stunning The Post Barn, nestled within Snelsmore Common, Newbury. Set against a peaceful countryside backdrop, The Post Barn offered the perfect location to reenergise, realign and inspire each other.

Diving into the Day

The day began with a series of presentations sharing the incredible work we do across the business in all regions.

The first session on Transport Planning and Travel Plan Coordination, led by Caroline Duff, Luke Millar, Nick Evans, and Kim Hammonds, gave us a solid overview of current projects and future strategies, and a good mix of insight and discussion. It was important for the whole company to understand the wide variety of projects across the UK including, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire and many other areas of the country.

Next up, we went straight into the Engineering updates from Louis Cornell, Jake Styles, and Ben Goodman. This covered Civils, Structures, and the Welborne projects. Their enthusiasm and collaboration were clear, and it was great to see how our engineering teams are pushing innovation and delivering quality.

Finally, James Warwick gave us a glimpse into what’s next for the Marketing strategy, while Rach Kershaw wrapped up the morning sessions with a focused review and insights into our teams efficiency and productivity. It was inspiring to see how all parts of the business are aligning for future growth.

Celebrating Our Own: The Bashy's

It also was a day of celebration with a huge congratulations to Adam Shephard for being promoted to Associate Director and Meagan Weedon for being promoted to Senior Associate, both thoroughly deserved!

The celebrations continued as we began our Annual Awards, The Bashy's

Congratulations to our winners:

  • Iron Man: Meagan Weedon
  • Team Player: Ryan Diboll
  • Living By Our Values: Harry Cross
  • Going Above and Beyond: Adam Shephard
  • Rising Star: Luke Millar
  • Best Newcomer: Jake Styles

This was a timely reminder to recognise everyone's hard work and efforts across the business which, of course, all leads to the success and growth of Paul Basham Associates.

Learning & Looking Ahead

The rest of the day was dedicated to a hands-on, thought-provoking Colour Works session. Focused on understanding personality types, behaviour traits and improving communication, it brought self-awareness and plenty of “a-ha” moments. This session provided the building blocks to strengthen communication both personally and across teams. Understanding your own strengths and weaknesses and how best to manage those people around you is invaluable and something we all learned something from.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, organised, and participated. And special thanks to our Directors and Angie Foster for ensuring everything ran smoothly. Of course, we'd like to thank The Post Barn team for hosting us so beautifully.
