Paul Basham Associates' Away Day 2019

Last week Paul Basham Associates enjoyed a day at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery in Whitchurch.

In the morning we had the opportunity for everyone across our 4 offices to come together, share our successes, receive an update on our future direction and reflect on how far the business has come over the last 10 years.  In the afternoon the team enjoyed a tour of the world famous gin distillery finishing off with an opportunity to sample one of the many gin based cocktails served up in the bar.

The day was a huge success and provided the chance for everyone across the 4 regional offices to catch-up with one another and hear about the variety of projects we are supporting and the exciting challenges ahead as we look to broaden the way in which our services are offered.

The day commenced with Paul recapping his journey over the last 10 years, from humble beginnings to the successful multi-disciplinary transport and civil engineering consultancy we are today. There were certainly a number of highlights to celebrate alongside the company's growth, including our graduate development programme, the breadth of projects we work across and importantly the culture and values that are instilled in our approach.

Each of the regional offices gave an overview of their year, looking at the clients, projects and sectors they have worked on and the challenges and opportunities that present themselves.

The afternoon tour enabled us to enjoy the idyllic grounds and the iconic botanical glasshouses - one of the main focal points of the tour.  There were a number of opportunities to experience the ingredients that make up the variety of gin-based cocktails and learn more about the distilling process and how each and every bottle of Bombay gin in the world originates from this site – an impressive feat! After a sniffing test of a variety of botanicals, each person was provided with their own curated, gin-based cocktail based upon their taste preferences with more than one person going back for seconds.

It was a great day and feedback of this event has been extremely positive and we look forward to future events being a mainstay in the work calendar for years to come.
