Fraser joined Paul Basham Associates as a Senior Transport Planner in October 2024 after several years in the Highways Development Planning team at Hampshire County Council.
What does your job involve?
As a Senior Transport Planner the role is very varied. Day to day this involves report writing, project management, AutoCAD work, fee proposals, site visits and checking and approving work ready for issue just to name a few.
What do you enjoy most about the role?
My favourite part of the role is the variety. At Paul Basham Associates there are such a wide range of projects to get involved in which makes it easy to gain experience in areas that you find particularly interesting. No two days are ever the same and that keeps things exciting.
What challenges you each day?
One of the biggest challenges is managing competing deadlines and this is a responsibility I really enjoy. As my career has progressed this is a skill I have developed to ensure work is of the highest quality whilst meeting deadlines – often with tight turnarounds.
What do you get up to in your free time?
I have recently become a dad for the first time so I try and spend as much time as possible with my wife and daughter. Aside from that, I like to meet up with friends and family, watch and play football and get out for a run where possible.
