What does your job involve?

As an Assistant Transport Planner, my role mainly involves a mix of report writing and AutoCAD work to support senior colleagues. As part of the Central team, I assist with a variety of projects across an number of sectors. I also help with the preparation of fee proposals, manage some of our Travel Plan Coordination sites and attend networking events.

What do you enjoy most about the role?

The most rewarding part of my role is seeing projects receive planning approval knowing I have advised and supported on the application. I also enjoy working within a project team and attending client meetings to discuss solutions and provide advice utilising my knowledge of transport planning.

What challenges you each day?

More recently, I have taken on some larger and more complex schemes which each have their own challenges. With each new project there are new experiences to take with me and transfer to future projects, which has been rewarding.

What do you get up to in your free time?

During the week, I enjoy going to the gym in the evenings, playing badminton with friends and going for a run. Having Blenheim Palace and grounds down the road, I also enjoy a walk there (with a hot chocolate of course). On the weekends I enjoy a few nights away which has recently included a trip to Dublin, going for hikes and meeting up with friends.
