Under the Spotlight with Kayleigh Coster

I joined Paul Basham Associates in September 2022 after spending nearly a decade in the Education sector, and I can’t quite believe how the time has flown by! I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the company so far, and I consider myself very fortunate to work amongst such a lovely bunch of people.

What does your job involve?
My role is incredibly varied and no two days are the same. My primary role is overseeing and coordinating Recruitment for the business. Whether that’s interviewing, carrying out inductions, putting together Graduate & Apprentice Training Programmes, talent acquisition, or attending recruitment events – And that’s just to name a few! I’m a part of the Operations team, and am also on hand to assist with Marketing, Admin, Health & Safety, HR, Finance, and Social Media.

What made you choose a role in Admin & Recruitment?
I was first introduced to Admin in 2013 when I graduated from full-time education. I decided to go down the Apprenticeship route, which was a fantastic way to get on-the-job training and experience whilst working towards an additional qualification. In 2024, I was presented with the opportunity to take on the coordination of Recruitment at Paul Basham Associates and I very quickly found a passion that I didn’t realise I possessed!

What do you enjoy most about the role?
It goes without saying that I enjoy the work that I do as a whole. I love being able to have a positive impact on other people, and nothing gives me greater satisfaction than welcoming new starters into the office on their first day and making sure that their onboarding experience is as seamless as possible. I also enjoy being on hand to provide support to my colleagues, whether it’s solving an IT issue or helping to finalise a report for a client.

What challenges you each day?
The great thing about my role is that every day is a school day, and there is always something new to learn!

What do you get up to in your free time?
Outside of work, I study an English Literature degree part-time which keeps me very busy. When I’m not studying, I’m an avid reader and writer – I have been known to get through over 100 books in a year! I also enjoy walking, painting, and visiting castles & museums.

What achievements are you most proud of since joining Paul Basham Associates?
Paul Basham Associates have supported me immensely by providing opportunities to nurture both my personal and professional growth. I’m incredibly grateful for being given the opportunity to oversee recruitment and play a key role in helping the business to grow.
