What does your job entail?

As a Graduate Civil Engineer my job involves a variety of different tasks including high-level design, finalising construction details, and Flood Risk Assessments to mention a few. I am also available to assist senior members of staff, with day-to-day tasks when necessary.

What do you enjoy about your role?

I enjoy the wide variety of tasks that the Graduate Civil Engineer position involves and have increased my practical skills building on my classroom learning. Working across sites and on-site visits has highlighted the specialist skills necessary to be proficient in my role.

What challenges you each day?

Every site poses a new challenge with no two the same, especially having to learn the software required to fulfil the task(s). The software could be AutoCAD, Site3D, Info-drainage and Micro-drainage.

What do you get up to in your free time?

When I’m not at work, I like to go to the gym, spend time with friends in addition to eating/making delicious cakes and food. I am part of the Olympic Pathway so the rest of my spare time is usually spent at training camps, competing, or training locally. When I have a break in the shooting season, I like to take the opportunity to relax or travel with friends and family.
