Rachael Kershaw is our Office Manager based in our Fareham Office. Rachael joined the company in 2015 as the Assistant Office Manager and after 3 months was promoted to Office Manager. Today we are talking to Rachael to learn a bit more about her and her role at Paul Basham Associates.
How long have you been working at Paul Basham Associates?
I’ve been working at Paul Basham Associates for three years now and have recently celebrated my anniversary. I’ve seen significant growth within the company; when I first started we only had the one office and now we have three!
What do you do on a daily basis?
Now this is a tough question! My job is so varied which is one of the reasons why I love it here. I work very closely with Sophie our Assistant Office Manager as well as our Directors. Recently my efforts have been focused around organising our Oxford Office move, which I am delighted to let you know is happening on Monday. Not only this, we’ve had tremendous growth with our personnel recently and as I look after the company’s HR, I have had the pleasure of completing several inductions and organising training. As well as the above, the company are ISO 9001:2015 accredited and I am the Quality Manager. As part of this role I ensure that we maintain our high standards on a yearly basis, as well as helping with the day to day up keeping of our Quality Management System. These are just a handful of tasks that I complete but I could go on! In fact, we shall be looking to hire an Office Manager in our Oxford Office shortly so watch this space!
What do you like most about working at Paul Basham Associates?
I think I would have to say the people. We are definitely a social bunch! Everyone is so friendly and easy to get along with and will do as much as they can to help each other out. We’ve also got a football team that I enjoy being part of. As well as the social side, I really enjoy the variety of my role here as I can be working on recruitment, marketing, finance, health & safety all in the same day!
What achievement are you most proud of since joining Paul Basham Associates?
In November 2016 the company went through a rebranding process that I was heavily involved with. I’m proud of the new look that we were able to create with our good friends at The Graphic Design House and they helped us create our updated website, logo, brochures … all of our marketing materials! It was stressful at times but so rewarding to see our efforts materialise and to this day we still get great feedback! If you would like a brochure, please ask. Likewise, check out our website!
What do you like doing in your spare time?
This year I’ve been to a few gigs and have some more booked in. My favourite so far for the year was seeing the Foo Fighters in Manchester, this is my second time seeing them and they never fail to impress. You just can’t beat live music!
