Paul Basham Associates were delighted to work with Accent Group for the development of 82 affordable residential dwellings across two parcels of land on the corner of Stocking Fen Road and St Mary’s Road, Ramsey.
The Brief
Paul Basham Associates were appointed by Accent Group after receiving a request from local highway officers to provide a Transport Assessment to support their planning application.
The Approach
The report predominantly focused on the anticipated impact of the development on the local highway network, as a result the team at Paul Basham Associates prepared a Transport Assessment which assessed the impact of the development trips on junctions local to the site and the wider highway network. Given the covid restrictions in place it was not possible to obtain new traffic data so the team focussed on gathering as much existing data as possible.
The anticipated trip generation and distributions from both access points were successfully demonstrated to not have a major impact on the local highway network and as a result it was not deemed necessary to model any of the local road junctions.
The Result
We were pleased to hear that the site received consent in December 2020 and we continue to support the client moving forward on the site with the discharge of conditions associated with the approval.
